Ok welcome to lesson 10 the topic is scatter plots and best fitting lines.  Basically we will be looking for trends when we plot several points.  If we identify a trend that seems to have a shape of a line we write a “best fitting line equation” to represent the trend.  Of course you need to understand all the skills we have studied up to this point so never be shy to review if you need to.

Things to focus on in this lesson:

• correlation
• how to identify a best fitting line
• what a scatter plot is

#### Find The Best Fitting Line/Scatter Plots

never, never, never stop trying

Wow one more lesson and you will finish the chapter! At this point in the course you should be able to: * feel good about solving equations * feel good about graphing lines * feel good about finding the equations of lines Let’s finish the chapter by exploring linear word problems Lesson 11: Linear Models/ Word Problems Lesson 1: Graphing Lines One Variable  Lesson 2: Graphing Lines Two Variables Lesson 3: Slope Of A Line Lesson 4: Graphing Lines Using Slope Intercept Method Lesson 5: Graphing Lines Using XY Intercept Method Lesson 6: Finding The Equation Of A Line y=mx + b Method Lesson 7: Finding The Equation Of A Line Point-Slope  Formula Lesson 8: Finding The Equation Of A Line Given A Point And Slope Lesson 9: Finding The Equation Of A Line Given Two Points Lesson 10: Find The Best Fitting Line/Scatter Plots Lesson 11: Linear Models/ Word Problems Section Practice Problems Below:

## Don’t Waste Time And Start Building The Math Skills You Need For The GED!

Taking my free GED math course is a big step to help you prepare for the GED. The course will help you learn core middle and high school math skills but you also need to do your part and practice! As such I created a workbook for this course that is designed to give students practice problems and solutions to strengthen their skills. In order to truly master math concepts you must practice a wide variety of problems. This workbook is an extremely valuable supplement that all students using GED Math Lessons should have.
