GED Math Chapter 11: Geometry Lesson 2
OK, welcome to lesson 2 the topic is area. Knowing how to find the area and volume of basic figures is a critical skill for the GED. As long as you know the formulas I don’t think you will have a problem learning the material. One thing I want you to keep in mind is area and volume have different units of measure. Knowing the correct units of measure is important to identifying a correct solution so pay special attention to the units I use in the lesson.
Things to focus on in this lesson:
• the units of measure for area
• the area formulas for basic figures
Chapter 11 Lesson 2
Area of Basic Figures
Do you have a date and location to take the GED? If not, you need to call your local school district or community college to find out.
Well done you finished lesson 2 on area. You should be able to:
- Find the area of basic figures
- Know how to use all the area formulas
- Understand the units of measure for area
Now that you understand basic area we can continue to learn about surface area.
