Ok welcome to lesson 5 on graphing lines. In this lesson we are going to learn another method to graph a two variable linear equation. This method uses the points a line intercepts the x and y axis of a line. What you have to learn is how we find these two intercept points. By the way this method uses a table of values so you may want to revisit lesson 2 to review tables if you’re having trouble.
Things to focus on in this lesson:
• Ax + By = C format
• table of values
• x and y intercepts
Chapter 6 Lesson 5
Graphing Lines Using XY Intercept Method
pop quiz: a solution to an equation makes the left side value = the right side value?
Nice job you know that much more for the GED! At this point in the course you should be able to:
* graph one and two variable lines * use the slope-intercept method to graph a line * graph lines using x and y intercepts Ok we are ready to start the next lesson. The topic is finding the equation of a line- this is different from graphing a line and you will need this for the GED!
